Reporting a problem
Does something not work, do you miss something or do you have a question? Report it from Stambeam. You see exactly what is sent along and nothing leaves until you click Send.
On the computer
- 1Open the form
Choose Help, Report a problem… or press Ctrl+Shift+F. - 2Choose the kind
Under Category choose whether it is a Bug, an Idea or a Question. Under Severity choose Minor, Normal or Severe. - 3Say what happened
Type a few words at What went wrong?. More is not needed. - 4Add a screenshot
Stambeam makes one itself. If you do not want to send it, remove it. You can also paste an image yourself with Ctrl+V or add a file with Add (up to 2 MB per file). - 5Send
Look under Diagnostics sent along to see what goes with it and click Send.
On the phone
- 1Tap the report icon
It is at the top right of the bar at the top, next to the settings. - 2Fill in the form
Give a Title and say what happened at What went wrong?. Choose a Category: Bug, Idea or Question. - 3Add images
The screenshot is included unless you turn it off; with Draw on screenshot you point out what is wrong. With Add a photo you add photos. - 4Send
Tap Send. If it fails, your text is kept and you try again.
What is sent
- Your title, description and the kind of report.
- A screenshot and the photos or files you add yourself.
- Technical details: the app version, the operating system and the screen size. On the computer also the latest log lines and the kind of the last commands, without names or dates.
- Your tree data is never sent, unless on the computer you turn on Send my family tree data too yourself. On the phone that is not possible.
No connection, or a crash
If there is no connection, Stambeam keeps the report and sends it at the next start. If Stambeam stopped unexpectedly, it asks next time whether you want to report it. You can review everything before it is sent.
