Searching
With one search field you find people, events, sources and notes. For harder questions you build a query with conditions.
Finding something quickly
- 1Open the search field
Click the search field at the top or press Ctrl+K. You also find commands of the program there. - 2Type a word
Search for a name, place, occupation or a bit of a note. The results are grouped by kind: Persons, Events, Sources, Notes, Media, Places. - 3Include spelling
Turn on Spelling variants or Similar sounding to also find other spellings or names that resemble each other.
Building a query
Via Edit, Search you choose Query. You add conditions, for example surname, year of birth or place, and choose whether all or at least one condition must match. Then click Search.
You can keep the result as a group so you can find it again (Window, Groups). A group can be fixed or dynamic.
