Documentation / Working together

The phone app

With the Stambeam app for Android you quickly look something up or record something on the go, for example in a cemetery or an archive. The app works together with your hub.

Signing in

The app needs a Stambeam Hub of your own. Your tree stays on the hub; the phone only fetches what you look at. No account yet? Ask the administrator of your hub for an invitation.

  1. 1
    Open the app
    Start Stambeam on your phone.
  2. 2
    Fill in your details
Fill in the Address of the hub, your User name and your Password.
  3. 3
    Check the address
The app asks whether you want to sign in to this hub. Check the address and click Sign in.
  4. 4
    Choose a tree
Choose a tree of your own or a tree shared with you. For shared trees you see whether you may edit them or only read.

What you can do

  • Search by name.
  • Look at a person card, with names, facts, sources, notes, photos, family, timeline and map.
  • Add and change people and facts, and add photos.
  • Keep favourites.

Without a connection

If there is no connection to the hub, you see the message No connection to the hub. What you enter goes into the Outbox and is sent along by itself as soon as there is a connection again. Searching does not work without a connection.
