   Download the installer
   Get the Windows installer from stambeam.nl.

   Open the file
   Double-click the downloaded file and follow the steps on the screen.

   Start Stambeam
   Open Stambeam from the start menu. The first time, the tour starts by itself once you have opened or made a tree.

   Make your first tree
   Choose File, New family tree. Give the tree a name, pick where it goes with Choose folder… and click Create.

Your data stays with you

A tree is a folder on your own computer, with the database file and your photos and scans. Stambeam sends nothing away unless you turn that on yourself.

You can make a copy with File, Make safety copy.

Updates

Stambeam looks for new versions by itself: when it starts and then every hour. When there is a new version, the window An update is available shows what is new. Choose Update now or Later.

To look yourself, choose Help, Check for updates. After an update, What’s new shows what has changed.
